Ekim Alptekin

Biography

Kamil Ekim Alptekin is a Dutch-Turkish businessman and entrepreneur. born in Ankara, Turkey in 1977, moved to the Netherlands at age 4, and holds dual Dutch-Turkish citizenship. He graduated from the University of Utrecht with a degree in law and economics.

After graduating, he received a nine-month fellowship to work as a staffer on the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs for Rep. Tom Lantos (D-CA). He later worked for the Democrats 66 parliamentary group at the States General of the Netherlands in The Hague. He held a one year fellowship at the INTERPOL Counter-Terrorism Fusion Centre in Lyon. He was a senior fellow with the Humanity in Action non-profit, and founder of the Frieda Menco Foundation.

Ekim was a major shareholder of Eclipse Aerospace; an Albuquerque, New Mexico-based aircraft manufacturer and sold his shares to institutional investors before becoming commercially active in the Real Estate, Defense, and Entertainment industries through his companies EA Construction and Investment, ATH Defense and Security Solutions and One Colony Organization.

Ekim Alptekin served as the Chairman of the Turkey-U.S. Business Council (TAÄ°K) in 2015-2017 and continues to be an Executive Board Member of TAÄ°K. Ekim was awarded the Commercial Leadership Award by the American Turkish Council in 2011 and the American Turkish Society elected Mr. Alptekin as a Young Society Leader in 2012.

Ekim speaks Turkish, English, Dutch, French and German. He is married and a father of three.
